The news crew tested for oil & grease ONLY. This just shows the presence of oil & grease in a specific quantity. It does not tell you qualitatively WHAT IS IN IT! I would like to see analysis of volatile aromatics and polynuclear hydrocarbons (gas & diesel constituents). Running EPA Method 8015B Non-halogenated Semi Volatile Organics would pick up the the petroleum AND dispersants.

I cannot understand WHY we are not doing that already...makes no sense...

The oil and grease test costs 25 dollars, 8015B costs 300 dollars.

The 8015B test runs about $300/sample, oil and grease about $50/sample.
