Dr. Samantha Joye is interviewed by Brandon Sutton at the UGA Oil Spill Symposium on January 26, 2011 for Spirit of the Gulf Coast. Dr. Joye describes the ongoing impact of the BP oil spill, public health concerns, and optimism regarding the Symposium itself. Dr. Joye was the first scientist to discover underwater plumes of oil in the Gulf of Mexico in the Summer of 2010. Her research is ongoing and she continues to spread awareness of the magnitude of the disaster.
