CURRENT STATUS IN THE GULF OF MEXICO: BLOWING UP OIL RIGS AND THE KILL OFF OF RED SNAPPER COLONIES

RELEASED YESTERDAY. Feds mandate blowing up abandoned oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, killing many thousands of pounds of Red Snapper, the most valuable fish species in the Gulf, each time they blow one up. In this blow-up, it killed 10,000 lbs. "That's a year's salary for a lot of people," says one fisherman. The coral reefs, red snapper's habitat, also get blown up. At the same time, Feds have been "protecting Red Snapper from over-fishing", cutting the season shorter and shorter, restricting limits anglers can catch. This is the first video of this made public, and the first time it's been reported.
