Professor Heidi Hutner interviews Helen Caldicott on October 2, 2011 in NYC. The interview took place in New York City, the day after the NYC CAN anti-nuclear rally.
Anti-nuclear activism has been on the rise worldwide in response to the March 11, 2011 disaster in Fukushima, Japan. Since the Fukushima accident, many countries-- including Germany, Switzerland and Italy-- are backing away from nuclear power entirely. Caldicott discusses her biographical background as a medical doctor and activist. She explains how she became concerned about medical and health dangers of nuclear weapons and power, and what needs to be done to remedy the situation.
