FRACKING IN FLORIDA--WE MUST STOP IT BEFORE IT STARTS!

Nothing could be more intrusive and detrimental to Florida's water and our environment than Fracking. For those of you that DO NOT KNOW what Fracking is, it is the process of hydraulic fracturing of the rock below the earth's surface in order to capture the natural gas that lies below. There are many methods to execute this process; here in Florida ACID FRACKING and HORIZONTAL FRACKING will be the methods used according to the current plans. The first exploratory well will be 1000 feet from a residence.

FRACKING IN FLORIDA will be in or contiguous to the Everglades, the last Florida Panther Wildlife Refuge, and State Parks. Also, of even greater importance, the Aquifers and Watersheds are included in all of those locales mentioned above. The Aquifers and Watersheds are integral parts of our state's fresh water supplies and waterways and all of them are interconnected. To Frack in these areas will cause the permanent poisoning of Florida's fresh water supplies.

It must be noted that the wastewater and the extraction chemicals that will be used will result in the poisoning of our state's precious fresh water supply. Recently our state has begun a multi -- million dollar Everglades Restoration Project to be paid for by Floridians. So for our government to allow the Fracking to commence will result in a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.
