CAROLYNE MAS

Once hailed by the press as "The Female Bruce Springsteen," Carolyne Mas was a pioneer of women's rock 'n' roll during the late seventies and early '80s. As a band leader, singer, and rhythm guitarist of a 6 piece hard-driving rock band, she recorded several albums in the US, but experienced her greatest success overseas, particularly in Germany where she lived and toured in the late '80s and early '90s. Her songs have been covered by artists around the world, most notably by the late Phoebe Snow.

Mas failed to gain the record label support she needed in the US to secure a long-term career for herself, and her last studio recording was completed in 1999. She subsequently released these recordings to her fans in 2005.

Mas left the music business and worked to support herself as anything from a go-go dancer to a cook to a car salesperson. She is a survivor of both a violent physical attack and rape which happened to her when she lived in Asbury Park during the mid-'80s.

When her father died in 2002, Mas became the matriarch of her family, caring for both her aunt and her mother who had Alzheimer's, even adopting her niece's son who had been born out of wedlock and abandoned in a hospital in Madrid, Spain.

Mas ran a sanctuary for elderly and abused animals in Florida for several years until she fell victim to an illegal seizure of her animals in 2009. In early 2010, fearing for her safety and the safety of her family, Mas moved from Florida to the desolate dessert of southeastern Arizona.

Following her mother's death at the end of 2010, Mas had no choice but to rebuild her life again from top to bottom. The way she chose to do this, was by purging her stories from the depth of her soul in a series of cathartic chapters which she developed into a memoir of her very complex life.

What Mas found by writing her book, is that there was something similar in the process to that of writing her songs; although the experiences were unique and her own, they were also quite universal to women everywhere. Her life has been a quest for acceptance as a woman both physically and emotionally. Bad choices in men, career difficulties, eating disorders, and issues of low self esteem are problems that plague women all over...and Mas experienced all of these things...but her take is unique because she sees herself as a survivor and not merely as a victim.

At 56, Carolyne Mas has at last come into her own with a sense of peace...and a hopeful eye to the future. She currently resides in rural Arizona, where she spends her time as an advocate for social change, and a mother to her young son.

The OCCUPY MOVEMENT EVERYWHERE Continues to Span Generations

My friends, longtime activists, the Nicholsons have attended the local OCCUPY TAMPA multiple times now and continue to inspire the activists and continue to BE inspired by them. Every time they attend the Occupy Tampa's General Assembly, they write a report and send it out to their local and very lengthy email list. The memes from the mainstream media continue to play out that OCCUPY EVERYWHERE is mostly comprised of young, unemployed people without goals or plans for their future. The Nicholson's are just two of the over 50 that are part of the 99% and continue to prove that activism does not end when someone reaches their golden years!

Their latest report is below:

REPORT OF 8TH VISIT TO OCCUPY TAMPA 12/10/11 BY NICHOLSONS

This was our fifth visit to a General Assembly (GA) and we took Joan & Walt our friends here at Freedom Plaza with us. It was a beautiful evening and the drive was pleasant as we drove the Crosstown viewing the lights of the city. We parked in the Rivergate Towers Parking Garage and walked to the beautiful amphiteater on the Hillsborough River across from the lighted minarets of the University of Tampa.

It was after 7 pm and I knew we were late as we entered the amphiteater and were surprised to find the amphiteater empty except for two dating couples who knew nothing about OCCUPY TAMPA. I called a friend who said " Oh Yes! They have to meet on Ashley Drive because all those who were recently arrested on dubious charges are prohibited from entering the park! I'll call them and tell them to have seating available for you when you arrive" We appreciated this as we are all in our 70's and early 80's.

We proceeded to the street level sidewalk and found the group gathered and the GA in progress .While other GA's we had attended numbered 80-200 in attendance this one had about 50 I believe. We had less than 10 minutes to watch the GA and then it was over. We were so disappointed that our guests could not get the full impact of the wonderful GA experience but they were able to participate a little in the "People's Mike" which was as always an inspiration. We spent probably another 30 minutes conversing with the Occupiers and getting to know them individually which was a joy. One of the young men David & I spoke with drives a truck for 10 hours 3 nights a week to make a subsistence living as he has no benefits and must save money for health care. He is a sincere patriot and cares deeply about this country. He had been handcuffed for responding peacefully to the Tampa Policeman who got into his face and shouted and he is one of those no longer permitted to enter this public park or the amphitheater. He is a bright courageus, soft spoken young man and we would be proud to have him as our son. There were several professonals in the group as well as tradesmen and students.

Occupy Tampa in spite of being harrassed and abused by the TPD still has the compassion and courage to help the few homeless who are in the area. Again, we applaud them! OT's committment to non-violence and raising awareness about our country's economic injustice and inequality will survive and we suggest that you visit them IF you care about restoring our country. You will be welcomed. We intend to continue our visits to OT and IF you would like to ride along let us know.

FREEDOM: What have we done?

When future generations ask us what happened to the country, what will we tell them? When they ask us why we didn't stop it, will we have an answer? When they see us cry as we respond, will they know why? Will they have a future? Will they even have a chance to ask us at all?

How have we as a people of this nation come to this point? I will tell you. We have lost our will to fight. To fight for what is right, what is fair and what is just. But beyond that, we have lost our will to live. I do not mean in the sense that we are killing ourselves, although (in a way) we are.

I mean, in that we have made a choice to accept what we are told. I mean that we have stopped trying to make things right, and started to ask for more hand outs. We have signed our freedoms over to politicians who have sold us on the best lines BS. We have looked them in the eyes, known they where lying and still said it was okay, in the hope that maybe, just maybe this one is different.

Guess what? They weren't, they aren't and they never will be. We are sitting on a $15 trillion dollar deficit. A number so large that we cannot even comprehend it logically. We simply say to ourselves that it will get better, it has to, it always has before.

Well, it won't, it can't and above all else it is impossible for it to. With the protests that have started around the nation we are starting to learn very quickly that something is broken, and the government is learning this too. The passing of the NDAA bill is a clear sign that those at the top are tired of their peasants uprising and need it to go away before more people join.

They have now turned the entire country into a “Battlefield” and with that, we will start to see people disappearing from these protests, never to be seen again. If you are wondering where this country is headed and what the end goal is for the government, don't watch the news or ask a friend, simple watch any documentary on the rise of Hitler and his control over Germany. There you will find what we have to look forward to.

I could rattle of a long list of statistics for you. I could talk about the long list of debt, the welfare programs, the amount of people who are homeless, jobless, hungry, underwater, and the list goes on, I could talk about the numerous bills and laws, that have been, are being and will be passed that fundamentally strip us of our rights. I could talk about the food acts, drug acts, security acts and so on.

Or maybe I could put together a list of the atrocities being perpetrated by the T.S.A., the strip searches of the elderly, the children and the person who refuses to be exposed to a cancer risk. But, I won't. Instead I will talk about what this country was founded on. Freedom. Plain and simple, no moreno less. And what is worse, is we all know this, we love it, we crave it and we enjoy it.

We (however) refuse to fight for it, defend it and die for it. We seem to have no problem allowing our military to jet off to foreign countries to fight on behalf of our dictatorial government and yet we refuse to stand up to a police officer as we watch them beat to death an innocent man.

We stand idly by while they shoot our brethren with rubber bullets, tear gas and bean bags. We scream at the injustice of groups of people being pepper sprayed and chant things like “shame”. The problem is they love that we sit there and take it, they love watching us cry out in pain.

The time for sitting around and hoping things will get better is over. Stand up, stand out and do something, anything. Are we going to wait for a child to be hit by a rubber bullet? Maybe when they finally kill someone we will do something.

You don't have to agree with what people are protesting against.

You don't have to approve of what they want or what their message is, you just have to want something better for this country.

The fact is, that most of the Occupy protesters have no idea what to protest, and have no idea who to protest against.

They are people who simply reached a breaking point and decided to stop sitting around at home, and do something. It may be misguided at times, but at least they are trying.

They just need more people to join them, to guide them and to organize them. If generations before us had been as beaten down and had as much trepidation as us, there never would have been a revolution, a civil war, or a United States.

That is all I have. That is all I can offer. I will leave you with these questions though, and leave it up to you to decide what is right, what is fair and where it ends.

When future generations ask us what happened to this country, what will we tell them?

When they ask us why we didn't stop it, will we have an answer?

When they see us cry as we respond, will they know why?

Will they have a future?

Will they even have a chance to ask us at all?

Democrats Co-opting "Occupy"

If Democrats were doing their jobs, there wouldn't be an Occupy movement.
The last 40 years has left liberals and progressives without a party and working people without an advocate. The party of FDR, JFK and LBJ abandoned its principles, embracing and voting along with Reagan and two Bushes. Clinton's biggest accomplishments, NAFTA and welfare reform, were GOP platform planks.
These New Democrats were indistinguishable from Republicans, waging optional wars, exporting jobs overseas and coddling corrupt CEOs while the rest of us — disconnected from power, our needs repeatedly ignored — sat and watched in silent rage.
President Barack Obama is merely the latest of these phony Democrats. He's the most recent in a line of corporate stooges going back to Jimmy Carter.
The Occupiers revolted under Obama's watch for two reasons. The gap between the promise of his soaring rhetoric and the basic indecency of his cold-blooded disregard for the poor and unemployed was too awful to ignore. Moreover, the post-2008 economic collapse pushed a dam of insults and pain and anger that had built up over years past its breaking point.
Haphazard and disorganized and ad hoc, the Occupy movement is an imperfect, spontaneous response that fills a yawning demand gap in the American marketplace of ideas. For the first time since 1972, the spectrum of left from liberalism to progressivism to socialism to communism to left anarchism has an audience (if not much of an organization).
Now the very same Democrats who killed liberalism and blocked leftists from candidacies, appointments, even the slightest participation in discussion — are trying to co-opt the Occupy movement.
MoveOn.org, which began as a plea for the U.S. to "move on" during Bill Clinton's impeachment for perjury, claims to be an independent, progressive activist group. It's really a shill for center-right Democratic politicians like Obama, whom MoveOn endorsed in the 2008 primaries against Hillary Clinton, who was running to Obama's left.
All decision-making within the Occupations is consensus-based. Nothing gets approved or done before it has been exhaustedly debated; actions must be approved by 90 to 100 percent of Occupiers at General Assemblies. It can be arduous.
Without respect for Occupy's process, MoveOn brazenly stole the movement's best-known meme for its Nov. 17 "We Are The 99%" event. And no one said boo.
Some Occupier friends were flattered.
Idiots.
Why didn't MoveOn ask permission from the Occupy movement? Because they wouldn't have gotten it. "We're just days from the Super Committee's deadline to propose more cuts for the 99% or increased taxes for the 1%," reads MoveOn's ersatz Occupy "event."
"So come out and help increase the pressure on Congress to tax Wall Street to create millions of jobs."
Um, no. Lobbying Congress directly contradicts a fundamental tenet of the movement that began with Occupy Wall Street. Occupy doesn't lobby. Occupy doesn't endorse either of the corporate political parties. Occupy doesn't care about this bill or that amendment. Occupy does not participate in stupid elections in which both candidates work for the 1%. Occupy exists in order to figure out how to get rid of the existing system and what should replace it.
What MoveOn did was shameful. They ought to apologize. Donating a year or two's worth of their contributions to the Occupations would be small penance. Given how little MoveOn has accomplished since its founding, Occupy would likely make better use of the cash.
On Dec. 7 it was the turn of another Democratic "Astroturf" organization, the "American Dream Movement," to lift the Occupy movement's radical rhetoric to promote a very different, milquetoast agenda.
The American Dream Movement was co-founded in June 2011 by former Obama political advisor Van Jones and — turning up like a bad penny! — MoveOn.org.
A written statement for the ADM's "Take Back the Capitol" threatened to "make Wall Street pay" for enriching the richest 1% and to "track down those responsible for crashing the economy and causing millions of 99%-ers to lose their jobs and homes — while failing to pay their fair share of taxes."
Sounds like Occupy. Which is great.
Somewhat less than awesome is the content of the "Take Back the Capitol": begging Congressmen who ought to be awaiting trial for corruption and treason for a few crumbs off the corporate table.
"Throughout Tuesday, demonstrators visited the offices of about 99 House and Senate members, from both parties, and most were refused meetings with lawmakers," reported NPR.
Duh.
What part of "we hate you" do these ACM fools not get?
Robert Townsend, an unemployed 48-year-old man from Milwaukee, managed to meet his congressman, Republican Thomas Petri. "We asked him if he would vote for the jobs bill. He was evasive on that. And I asked him, 'Tell me something positive that you're doing for Wisconsin that will put us back to work.' He mentioned something in Oshkosh, but that's mostly for military people. He really didn't have much of an answer. It's like he had no commitment to addressing this problem."
Double duh.
If Congress were responsive, if Democrats or Republicans cared about us or our needs, if Obama and his colleagues spent a 10th as much time and money on the unemployed as they do golfing and bombing and invading and shoveling trillions of dollars at Wall Street bankers, we wouldn't need an Occupy movement.
But we won't have one for long. Not if Occupy lets itself get Occupied by MoveOn and the Democrats.

Police arrest 29 Occupy Tampa protesters after asking them to vacate park

TAMPA — One by one, they were handcuffed, pulled from the grass and loaded into a police van. All 29 of them.

In the biggest night of arrests since the Occupy Tampa movement began three months ago, police charged demonstrators with trespassing in a public park after hours and resisting arrest without violence late Thursday. Both charges are misdemeanors.

Officers also used a city ordinance to issue trespass warnings to those who were arrested. The warning is effective in all city parks. Violators could face penalties that include a $500 fine, up to 60 days in jail and as much as six months' probation.

The demonstrators were taken into custody during a peaceful protest in which the group refused to leave Riverfront Park, police said.

Susie Shannon, 59, said the officer who arrested her was very respectful.

"I think that is a viable option for all officers," she said.

Senate votes to allow indefinite detention of Americans

The Senate on Thursday evening essentially blessed the indefinite detention of American citizens who join up with Al Qaeda.

By a 45-55 vote, senators rejected an amendment from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) that would have excluded U.S. citizens from the detention authority created by the Authorization for the Use of Military Force passed in 2001 after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Feinstein's amendment would have inserted language excluding Americans into the detainee provisions of the Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act.

During floor debate on Feinstein's proposal, some senators argued that Supreme Court decisions make clear that American citizens can be detained under the law of war. They point to a 1942 decision upholding the trial of an American-born saboteur before a military commission and a 2004 decision in which four justices endorsed an opinion that found the government has the right to detain a U.S. citizen who joins with enemy forces. However, other senators said the facts of those cases don't squarely endorse the open-ended detention of a U.S. citizen captured on U.S. soil.

The Senate later adopted, by a 99-1 vote, a compromise amendment clarifying that nothing in the NDAA is intended to alter the government current legal authority to detain prisoners captured in the war on terror.

An earlier Feinstein amendment seeking to limit new detention-related rules to prisoners captured outside the U.S. also failed, on a 45-55 vote.

Sean Kinane (news director) contacted me in a FB private message and I told him that no one could confirm that a raid had taken place, no press release, still shots or video and no phone calls or confirmation on LIVESTREAM.

In the meantime, Livestream chat was being taken over by trolls.

Also got the following in a text message to my phone from number 360-268-3453 at 12:34PM today (the person who has that phone number is one of the people infiltrating OT): “TAMPA: THE RAID IS OVER. EVERYTHING WAS TAKEN SAFELY TO STORAGE. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND HELP.”

I am sure others got this text message as well. Go over what language is used in communication and in what context. Please figure out who has possibly infiltrated you and limit access on the social networks to those that you know really well. Change passwords often. Know who is standing next to you. They may not be who they say they are.

Police moved in at 3:30 a.m. this morning after protesters put up at least three tents to shield themselves from persistent rain. The officers ordered protesters to remove the tents and they began to comply. Things fell into disarray as at least 12 squad cars arrived and police shoved a cameraman to the ground, multiple eyewitnesses said.

When I saw the pictures of wounded from Yemen, Egypt and Palestine, I felt immense pain for the protesters- shot and gassed simply for standing up for what they believed in. But still I foolishly thought to myself "that won't happen here... things will be different. We're not that kind of country".

Now I'm seeing yet another picture of a bloody human being who only wanted a better country being carried by his brothers.

But it hurts all the more knowing that this picture was taken on American soil.

Knowing that the men who did this took an oath to serve and protect, took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.

The constitution which clearly prescribes that the people have a right to assemble, that they have a right to alter or abolish corrupt government, that they have a right to be free and to stand together and shout at the system they feel threatens their liberty.

The whole world is watching, Oakland. From the 60" mahogany-framed plasma TV in boardrooms to the 10" netbook in an African classroom with 4 students huddled over it. The shots fired in Oakland today were just the beginning.

America is watching. Please share this note on Facebook. Paste this text and these images in an email and send it everywhere. These pictures should circle the country until you get this email back. These pictures will not frighten Americans, they will infuriate them. The videos coming from Oakland will light a fire in the 15 million veterans who've served since Vietnam, and the 3 million men and women serving today. Many of them are undecided, but more and more of them are making up their minds.

OCCUPY TAMPA WILL CLAIM A PUBLIC PARK TOMORROW AT SUNDOWN

Tampa, FL (October 21) — The Tampa Bay General Assembly (TBGA) has decided to support the autonomous actions of individuals who oppose economic injustice and defend the First Amendment right to free speech and assembly. Therefore, because the city of Tampa refuses to follow the Constitution and its amendments, some members of Occupy Tampa, who believe the right to assemble means occupying a public space, will claim a downtown park tomorrow at sundown.

The People of Occupy Tampa have remained cooperative with authorities until today’s arrests. An extensive amount of documentation show that when police have asked protesters to leave parks, remove tents, and clear sidewalks, we have complied in an attempt to set a precedent and prove that we are not law-breaking troublemakers who simply wish to pester those in power. We have followed city codes and ordinances, though opposed to them, for as long as possible. In our endeavors, we have realized that the police, the City Council and the Mayor are at the mercy of economic and political forces that, over many decades, have enabled the prosperous to further prosper, but have systematically disallowed any serious change.

We have listened, waited, complied and tried through every legal channel possible to acquire a suitable place to form a permanent, public presence. The best we were given was the sidewalk with leniency to sleep during hours assigned by the police. However, during those hours, police have grown increasingly hostile, waking people every hour, videotaping them during their most vulnerable state, turning on sirens and honking horns to disrupt sleep. We have remained clean, taken care of public bathrooms and sidewalks, and organized resources to clear a path for pedestrians. When the police asked for four feet of clearance, we marked off six. When the police asked us to leave Gaslight Park at sundown, we left an hour early.

Mayor Buckhorn has remained neutral and noncommittal while the Police publicly called protesters, though protected by the First Amendment, “children who refuse to wake for school.” Councilwoman Mulhern addressed the General Assembly on the one vague ordinance that states it is prohibited to block sidewalks with objects, but she was unclear about its interpretation. The following day, protesters filled City Council to express their concerns and the city attorney didn’t even know whether the ordinance viewed humans as objects.

The People of Occupy Tampa are ready to announce, after a month of peacefully and lawfully assembling, that no matter the interpretation of law, we refuse to be considered objects any longer. We deserve the constitutionally protected right to assemble and address our grievances.

To all Florida citizens who patriotically believe that the right to assemble means occupying a park in solidarity with occupations around the world, though no one speaks on behalf of the General Assembly, gather at Curtis Hixon Park at 7:00 pm on Saturday and claim what is rightfully yours.

The Obama Administration keeps committing one totally inexplicable mistake after another. The US government is allowing BP – the oil company responsible for the ecological disaster in Mexican Gulf - to continue bidding for gulf oil drilling rights. It is hard to find any other reason for this questionable decision rather than an attempt to upset the rest of Obama’s supporters. In 2008 Obama became a new hope for the middle class, students, immigrants and environmentalists. Now that these hopes have fallen through, the groups that were the basis for Obama’s victory are faced with nothing but disillusionment.

After the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, which killed 11 workers, injured 17 others and unleashed nearly 5 million barrels of crude oil into the ocean, nobody could even imagine that BP had any chances to continue operation in the Mexican Gulf Area. The spill which flowed for three months was described as the "worst environmental disaster the US has faced" by the White House energy advisor Carol Browner. The disaster dealt an enormous amount of damage to the US and world ecology, affecting eight US national parks and threatening more than 400 species.

BP and its contractors – Transocean, the owner of the Deepwater Horizon rig and Halliburton, a well-cementing company - tried to blame each other for the catastrophe, but there was no doubt that all of them would have to face the consequences.

On Thursday all three were charged with 15 breaches of offshore regulations. While Transocean and Halliburton argued that BP is the guilty party, BP in its turn is still trying to convince the contractors to contribute their share of the compensation, which the company has already paid. "The issuance today of notices of non-compliance to BP, Transocean and Halliburton makes clear that contractors, like operators, are responsible for properly conducting their deepwater drilling activities and are accountable to the US government and the American public for their conduct," said BP in a statement.

But what BP should be really afraid of is being found guilty of gross negligence. Such a decision, made by any court, would automatically trigger billion-dollar claims under the US’s Clean Water Act.

TAMPA POLICE BROKE DOWN OCCUPY TAMPA PROTESTERS’ CAMP

As many as six squad cars responded on scene in front of Curtis Hixon Park.

Tampa, FL (October 14, 2011) – Friday morning, at approximately 9:00 a.m. EST, Tampa Police Department vehicles arrived on site in front of Curtis Hixon Park. The officers (of both genders) numbered in the double digits, and their presence led protesters to believe that the officers were prepared to arrest protesters of both genders. Captain Dugan, who was in charge of the scene, informed protesters that they were no longer allowed to place articles (backpacks, coolers, chairs, purses, sleeping bags, etc) in or upon the sidewalk per City Statute 22-8, including a table, which was being used to distribute political literature, in clear violation of the landmark court case, ACLU of Nevada v. City of Las Vegas.

Later that Friday, a Tampa Police office approached the Occupy Tampa site in front of Curtis Hixon Park and distributed flyers, which stated that the protesters would be allowed to sleep on the sidewalk, but could not place any articles upon the sidewalk, save for a table for distributing political literature.

This notification directly contradicted verbal permission we received to occupy city sidewalks, with belongings, provided we maintain a 4ft right-of-way for pedestrian traffic (youtube.com/watch?v=yynBEWIqqroxsns=em). This was given to us by a Tampa police officer in the wee hours of Monday morning on October 10th. We immediately taped the sidewalk, demarcating a 6ft right-of-way to ensure compliance with the officer’s directive.

On Tuesday evening, October 11, 2011, approximately 7 officers arrived at Curtis Hixon Park instructing protesters to remove their belongings from the sidewalk. Officers then notified protesters that they could occupy the sidewalk all night, but would not be allowed to sleep on the sidewalk. A consulting lawyer talked to Lt. Sawiski, who cited city statute 22-8 which references the illegality of placing articles upon the sidewalk. Lt. Sawiski stated that he had been directed by the captain of the police force to enforce the statute. In spite of this, the protesters stayed and were not approached by officers.

The following day, Wednesday October 12th, a legal consultant, Rugh Cline, received notice from Assistant City Attorney Vaske that the protesters were not in violation of any city ordinance and were allowed to maintain occupation of the city sidewalks, provided they maintain the 4ft right-of-way for pedestrian traffic. The protesters resumed occupation and constant demonstration throughout the night without event.

The following day, Occupy Tampa were not approached by Tampa P.D. until the events of Friday morning.

Mr. Cline has been in contact with city officials, who informed him that the city attorney’s office is drafting legislation to present to the Tampa City Council. The legislation concerns the legality of occupying parks and public spaces, such as sidewalks. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is actively seeking to prevent this legislation in its current form. The proposed changes to the drafted legislation are being submitted to City Council for approval as soon as Monday (17 October 2011). Occupy Tampa is requesting public notice of the date when the Tampa City Council will debate this proposal, so that the public will be provided time to organize and attend the hearing. If Mayor Buckhorn chooses to ratify this legislation, which restricts our First Amendment rights, Occupy Tampa will actively organize and campaign against his re-election.

Additionally, the Tampa Police Department has made veiled threats regarding Mr. Cline’s legal career, despite Mr. Cline never having agreed to represent Occupy Tampa.

We are presently soliciting local media and press coverage of the Tampa City Council hearing on the aforementioned proposal, in order to shed light on the inconsistencies of the Tampa Police Department.

We remain law-abiding citizens who wish to exercise our rights to public assembly and free speech. The Tampa City Council is currently attempting to enact legislation, which will threaten these rights for all citizens.

4 dead dolphins wash up on Gulf Coast beaches in 5 days; deaths part of 'unusual mortality event'

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Alabama -- A dolphin carcass, bloated and violet in the morning sun, was found on Fort Morgan early Saturday, bringing the number lost since the BP oil spill to more than 400.

Three other dolphins have washed up in Alabama in the past week, including a pregnant female on Dauphin Island and a mother and calf pair on Hollingers Island in Mobile Bay.

This dolphin was found on the Mobile Bay side of the Fort Morgan peninsula Saturday morning, one of four found since Friday. The death brings the total number of dead dolphins found since the BP oil spill to more than 400. Federal officials say an "Unusual Mortality Event" has been declared for the Gulf's dolphin population, which have been dying at a rate 5 to 10 times higher than average.

"We should be seeing one (death) a month at this time of year," said Ruth Carmichael, a Dauphin Island Sea Lab scientist tasked with responding to reports of dead dolphins. "We’re getting one or more a week. It’s just never slowed down."

An examination of the Gulfwide death toll, broken down by month, reveals that dolphins continue to die at rates four to 10 times higher than normal. For instance, 23 dolphins were found dead in August, compared to a monthly average of less than 3 each August between 2002 and 2009.

Tampa, FL (October 11, 2011) - At approx. 8:50PM EST the Tampa Police Department has told the protesters that they may no longer sleep on the sidewalk. Their initial response to the occupation was to inform the protesters that they could sleep on the sidewalk, provided that they were not within 3' of the curb and they left a 4' walking path. This response is unusual and is being investigated by legal. As of 9:15 a representative from legal was on the ground interacting with the Tampa Police.

This is a strange turn of events for the Tampa Police, who have been very gracious hosts for Occupy Tampa up to this point. Occupy Tampa's "Stop the Machine" rally was the largest activist gathering in the Southeast in over a decade. The TBGA is a group of citizens trying to exercise their First Amendment right to peacefully assemble. Throughout the nation police departments are engaging in increasingly hostile tactics to intimidate, divide and disperse Occupations.

Occupy Tampa is calling on all occupations, around state and nation, to flood Downtown Tampa on October 15th and prepare to stay indefinitely. If you can arrive sooner, we would love to have you. Is Occupy Wall Street, and the Occupy Movement a Giant Hoax?

Is the Occupy Wall Street movement a hoax? Well if you know anything about the Illuminati, the Federal Reserve and the Money laundering of the Rothchild Bankers, the connections to 9/11, etc., you have probably been asking yourself this very question, I know I have. It turns out, it was started posted on Adbusters the left-wing anti consumerist group who has some heavy hitting connections. infowars.com did some great research for his article on October 3rd:

Steve Baldwin claims Tides received over $7 million from George Soros. Although the monetary connection between Tides’ founder Drummond Pike and the arch globalist Soros is somewhat murky, researcher Ron Arnold has mapped out numerous connections between the two so-called philanthropists. Under IRS rules, Drummond is not obliged to reveal who he receives money from to fund a large number of supposedly progressive organizations.
“The Tides Foundation is a pass-through for other foundations’ money,” writes Arnold. “Tides Foundation is a public charity, not a private foundation. Tides Foundation passes other foundations’ money to a spectrum of left-wing organizations which the original donors would not or could not support on their own… Because none of the more than 260 projects under the Tides umbrella files its own Form 990 with the IRS, their finances are totally secret and not available for public inspection, an issue that requires congressional remedy.”

The Ruckus Society receives funding from the Tides Foundation and George Soros’ Open Society Institute provides grants to Tides, including a mere $4.2 Million in 2008, the last year figures are available.”
As the filmmaker Michael Moore admitted to We Are Change activist and journalist Luke Rudkowski last week, the goal of the movement funded in large part with globalist lucre is to attack and dismantle capitalism. Moore discounted out of hand any effort to end the Federal Reserve and return the nation to sound and honest money controlled by the American people, not a cartel of bankers and oligarchs from the financial class, including George Soros."

This suggests the initial push and support for OWS may have been the Bankers. Their aims may have been to trick the masses, who are in the "know," into a pseudo-liberal revolt in which the end result would be a debt-slave socialist state which Michael Moore seems to abdicate. There has been a movement to disclose the truth for years, but never has there but a venue to opening protest about it, and never have people be allowed to publicly discuss it. What the Bankers did not realize is the people who want change and who have been dreaming for it secretly would transform the movement from another push for corrupt Socialism, to a world transforming movement for peace, and equality; Martin Luther King is Smiling some where.

Some out there on the inter-webs are saying the OWS has it wrong, that they don't focus on the FED, or that if you support OWS you should just support Ron Paul. We support change, and are occupying till that happens, and the change we are talking about is global, complete, and replete. We are talking about changing the fabric of our lives, not standing behind some empty shirt for the next presidential run. This is not some fad to blow over in a few months. The OWS has so much more potential, the fact it is so widespread in its content gives it the potential for truly omnipresent affects.

The movement may have started from a group of elitists who wanted to solidify the whole freedom movement in a false bid for a social state, one in which the FED and its criminal banking practices are left intact, but now it has transformed into a truly world wide phenomena for global change in the right directions (yes plural). This is a motif for what is to come, if we want to transform the entire world, which is what we will begin to do once the real unravelling begins, we must look to unification. Dichotomy is dangerous in that we can not fall into the trap of vilifying people who have bought into the propaganda, they are just as much victims as me or you.

We are at a dangerous time in the movements growth. This is the time when it is so easy for it to turn into us vs them. But we must remain vigilant. Stay steadfast to your non-violent values, because they will be put to the test. Our money masters would have us turn brother against brother, so when you meet opposition out there, when you tell your friends or loved ones what you believe in and they scoff at you, remember they are a sleep, in a very real way. The ones who fight us the hardest are the ones who have more of a grip the old system, those who make good money, who think the economy is recovering, etc. They will fight change based on fear, but we must not fight fear with fear. These are the other 99%, the ones you do not see standing next to you on the corner, they are the ones looking down at you and wonder what your so upset about. They are the ones who have whole heartedly subscribed to the propaganda, and they will need our love and support to wake up to the truth.

Despite police warning, Occupy Tampa protesters vote to risk arrest and stay on sidewalk

On the third night of their overnight occupation of part of a sidewalk near Curtis-Hixon Park, Occupy Tampa activists were told by Police they had to leave.

Two nights earlier they had been told it was OK to camp along the sidewalk as long as they were not inside the park after 10 p.m. and left room on the sidewalk for pedestrian traffic.

Sunday night a police officer who would only identify himself as Officer Rice approved of the group’s new camp. On tape he said, “They can stay on public property.”

But Tuesday night the ten or so Tampa Police had a different message.

The Gulf of Mexico disaster has not gone away. In fact, it has grown exponentially since the main stream media stopped talking about it. According to the Gulf Rescue Alliance, an organization composed of scientists, medical professionals and seafood industry professionals, among others, the problem cannot be simplified to the damage already caused by the oil spill. It is worse, much worse.

The Real Agenda received exclusive information regarding the current state of the ongoing emergency in the Gulf of Mexico. The latest assessment performed by the Gulf Rescue Alliance reveals not only that the oil spill is still happening, but also that the Gulf of Mexico’s sea floor grew more unstable since the explosion in 2010. Additionally, analysis provided by experts like BK Lim, shows that the geohazards developed that derive from the rolling leakage of toxic matter, combined with the on-going use of the highly toxic chemical dispersant called Corexit will most likely result in the permanent decline of

marine life, while posing out-of-control public health risks, just as it did after the Exxon Valdez spill where the same chemical dispersants were used resulting in a rapid decline of the marine life until, for example, the Herring industry completely collapsed and has never recovered since then.

In a letter dated 14 January, 2011 that was sent to Congressman Fred Upton, Chairman House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and Congressman John Shimkus Chairman Subcommittee on Environment and Economy, BK Lim warned the congressmen and their committees about the current state of the sub-seabed in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). In the document, an in-depth assessment of the emergency was provided. It explains why action must be taken immediately.

The evaluation of the emergency in the Gulf conducted by Mr. Lim appears credible and is based on his 30 years of experience analyzing the geologic structure of both dry land and underwater drilling sites for major oil industry companies and leading geohazards contractors such as Fugro Geodetic (M) Sdn Bhd, TL Geohydrographics Sdn Bhd, and RPS Energy Pty Ltd.

“The vaporization of enormous amounts of methane hydrates on a scale not seen before, the release of stresses between the lower and upper crust resulting in the abnormal occurrences of low magnitude, shallow earthquakes adjacent to the New Madrid Fault, the sub-seabed underground erosion in the vicinity of the shelf edge undermining the slope stability with possible tsunami-generating, giant, submarine landslides,” said Mr. Lim.

Unity and the Occupy Movement: “The World vs Wall Street”
On thing is clear regardless of where you look, the occupy movement displays unity above all else. Whether black or white, gay or strait, male or female, young or old, even rich or poor, people everywhere are united behind this movement despite the claims it has no agenda worth standing behind. Why is this? Why has the Occupy Movement galvanized so many people literally the world over?

Here as I write this there is a petition being passed around the world “The World vs Wall Street” https://secure.avaaz.org/en/the_world_vs_wall_st/?alRxhcb. A video ticker is displaying the number of signers to the passers by and has reached an astonishing 523,000 signers. When I signed it this morning it was at 460,000 which is a 63,000 increase in less then 12 hours. A global revolution in consciousness is underway, and the United States the is the keystone in a world wide bridge of personal freedom for all mankind. For what has been happening for this generation has also been happening to our fathers and mothers, their fathers and mothers, across all of our history.

Oppression these days is quiet, subconscious and a disease of ignorance. We the people of this world have let our selves be enslaved by ignorance and subjected to tyranny with out ever leaving our living rooms.

What is there to protest about? For those of you who don’t know, literally every facet of our lives is being tampered with by the so called 1%. 1.5 million people were diagnosed with cancer in the US alone last year, and you may not know that cancer is completely curable and has been for years. I originally became aware of this by discovering a man who cured cancer in 1928, Dr. Max Gerson. He was so successful at curing this disease and many other “incurable” diseases he testified before congress in 1946 and his life saving and prolonging research was deemed un-adoptable because no cure could ever be taken seriously unless a drug could be prescribed to make money from it. Dr. Gerson’s treatment involved eating only organic juices and a strictly controlled diet while eliminating toxins. Which one of you has lost a friend or relative to cancer in your life time? There have literally been 100,000,000 people killed needlessly since the start of the 20th century from cancer; threw society wide ignorance and institutional close-mindedness. And this is just the beginning. Our money masters have kept us in a prison of ignorance for generations and now, this very moment the entire world is waking up to it.

Unity has been the common element threw out. I am the owner and president of my media company, Mad Latino Studios, which I run it with my boyfriend Julian. He went to record Occupy Tampa and documented what he could on the 6th of October. During the General Assembly I was amazed at the unity of movement members. The voices where literally reverberating off the buildings and I hazard to guess the entire downtown area could hear the people there, there voices being heard in offices. People can not escape the truth anymore and each one of us who exposes our brothers and sisters to the truth is a participant, even if you never set foot on a sidewalk. When the orator was speaking of behavior he said “remember we are not hear to hate, we are here to love.” Immediately after everyone erupted in cheers and was it definitely the most boisterous round of cheering of that assembly. It will be love and forgiveness which ultimately free us from the centuries of oppression, Power to forgive ourselves for letting it happen, and forgive humanity for participating in it.

So often I hear coworkers or friends say.. “there is no agenda, what are people protesting about?” There is so much in disharmony in our world how can you not protest? How can you think about the future of this world and your children and not want to get out on the side walk and say “im not going to take it anymore!! Its time we got up and stopped relying on others to change this world!!” That is the essence of everything, self empowerment. We are capable of so much its staggering, if we only take up the torch and stand tall, mountains will be moved.

So often I hear people remark about what one person did, or what one group said and how they can not stand behind something like that. No revolution has ever emerged into the collective consciousness ready made. It took people standing up and making their voices be heard which alchemized the movements into cohesive waves of change. The Occupy movement is in its infancy, it is taking baby steps. I would say the single most important thing right now is spreading awareness. Awareness that this movement is for everyone, not even just the 99%, the entire population of planet earth is affected, and it require all of us to keep it changed once this happens. The most important thing is to wake everyone up to the truth, you have always been free, and we do not need a law, or a majority vote or even a constitution to tell us that. It is our god given right as beings of this universe and only you by you can keep you in prisoned.

So are you going to wait off on the sidelines for a ready made movement to form? Are you going to comment and complaining about it not going your way and do nothing to make your voice heard? Are you going to help make history?

Occupy Tampa is now officially an occupation!

As of 6:30AM, October 10th, 2011, Tampa has been Occupied for a full 24 hours!

At around 8:10PM last night, October 9th, 2011, the occupiers were asked to leave Lykes Gaslight Park by the TPD. They complied with the order and moved to Curtis Hixon park where they were told by TPD that they can sleep on the sidewalks as long as they don’t obstruct traffic. They are holding a General Assembly at 11AM today to discuss moving the occupation there. All are welcome. None will be turned away unheard. Non-violence is paramount.

For the time being, a sentry has been posted at Gaslight Park to inform newcomers of the changes and let them know what is going on. We hope to have more info soon. Until then, please review the NEEDS tab above (on the website here: http://www.occupytampa.org) to see if you can help the occupiers in any way. They will be in Curtis Hixon park until further notice. I’ll keep you all updated as I hear from the ground crew facilitators.

"If you got caught humping another woman - [if] you're both naked and caught in the act - you'd want BP to explain to your wife how it didn't happen."

This colorful analogy was proposed by Dean Blanchard, a seafood distributor on Grand Isle, Louisiana, to explain oil giant BP's continuing machinations to evade liability in the aftermath of the April 2010 disaster.

During a recent discussion in his office, Blanchard told Al Jazeera that the fishing waters off Louisiana are only producing one per cent of the shrimp they formerly produced. "Half of the local fishermen have shut down," he stated. "They are dying. And [as] for the fishing, every day they are hauling dead porpoises in front of my place. I have a claim filed with BP, but none of us in the seafood business are being paid."

Speculating that he may soon have to close down his company, Blanchard spoke for hundreds of thousands of Gulf Coast residents who remain angry and frustrated when he added: "I worked 30 years to establish my business, and now BP has destroyed my life."

Fallout and responsibility
In a key investigative report released on September 14, the US government heaped most of the blame for the oil disaster on BP, which now faces a raft of criminal and civil litigation and billions of dollars in potential damages.
The report concluded that BP violated federal regulations, ignored safety concerns and crucial warnings, and made careless decisions during the cementing of the well nearly two kilometres underwater.

TAMPA POLICE DEPARTMENT BARRICADES LYKES GASLIGHT PARK
Tampa Bay General Assembly will still convene

Tampa, FL (October 5, 2011) — This evening, the Tampa Police Department barricaded a three-block diameter around Lykes Gaslight Park, where the Tampa Bay General Assembly (TBGA) plans to assemble tomorrow in downtown Tampa.

All federal and state buildings have been blocked off in early anticipation for the largest social activist gathering in Florida in over a decade. The TBGA is a group of citizens trying to exercise their First Amendment right to peacefully assemble. With potentially thousands from around Florida showing up to hold a public forum, organizers have been informed that officers are already on duty patrolling the area.

Attendees are still welcome to gather, but the police have warned the Legal Team that citizens must stay off roads and obey crosswalks, cannot wear masks and must follow the laws of the park. The park hours are from dawn to dusk. Drugs, alcohol and megaphones are prohibited. The law states that no more than fifty people are allowed to gather without a permit. A permit requires sixty days of notice, $300 per day, insurance costing $1000 per day, security and sanitation details. If any of these laws are broken, gatherers will be subject to arrest.

The Tampa Bay General Assembly organizers strongly feel that these ordinances interfere with their First Amendment right to peacefully gather. Organizers are asking citizens who attend to remain nonviolent and orderly, but photograph everything. Police have warned that the TBGA will not be allowed to reconvene after tomorrow. Essentially, this will be the final gathering at Gaslight Park unless the General Assembly decides by consensus to defend its First Amendment right and occupy the park.

Organizers will conduct Peace Workshops to inform attendees how to confront potential escalations. The TBGA is a public forum, designed to allow people of every background to gather and discuss social issues. It has voted by consensus to remain peaceful throughout its existence.

TAMPA BAY GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO RECONVENE THURSDAY

Tampa, FL (October 6, 2011) – The Tampa Bay General Assembly (TBGA) reconvenes on Thursday with a day-long event at Lykes Gaslight Park. Organizers are expecting over a thousand in attendance. The TBGA’s “Stop the Machine!” assembly will coincide with the October2011 movement beginning in Washington D.C. on the same day.

October marks the 10-year anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan and organizers have been preparing to occupy Freedom Plaza in the nation’s capital to hold a People’s Assembly similar to the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Assemblers in Tampa will spend the morning hours meeting in workgroups that were established at the first General Assembly on Oct. 1st. These include Legal, Media, Social Outreach, Logistics/Tactical, Arts & Culture. More workgroups will likely arise in response to needs of the whole. Also at the last gathering, the TBGA voted that all will bring food to feed the homeless who normally occupy the park during the day.

The official General Assembly will gather at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. There, workgroups will report to the entire body. Those in attendance will discuss proposals and decide plans through consensus. Protesters will march in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street at 3:00 p.m. and will march again at 5:15 p.m. to the Federal Courthouse, joining St. Pete for Peace in solidarity with the actions in D.C.

The Uhuru Movement will be among the organizations joining the second Tampa Bay General Assembly in what will be one of the largest peaceful gatherings of protesters in the Bay Area in a decade. The TBGA welcomes voices from all backgrounds and will continue to advocate nonviolence. The group stresses its nonpolitical affiliation and seeks to create a space where all can assemble and have a legitimate public forum so diverse viewpoints can have equal representation.

Organizers do not expect any kind of disobedience and are planning Peace Workshops to inform attendees how to confront potential escalations. They understand that a police presence will likely accompany such a large body of gatherers, but the TBGA has voted by consensus to remain peaceful throughout its existence.

All are welcome. None will be turned away. Nonviolence is paramount.

An arrested member provides an audio account of what happened on the brooklyn bridge, October 1st, 2011 with the protestors of occupywallst and the NYPD. NOTE NYPD leading the march onto the bridge, without any words of warning or attempts to derail the march. Normally, you are not allowed to step off the sidewalk without a reprimand and warning.
I would like to add, almost all cops encountered in blue shirts were very nice people, just having to do their jobs. We respect them and their families, as we respect all. We want you to understand, we are doing this for all of you as well.

Looks like a very clear case of ENTRAPMENT.

Many of the 700 were kept locked in busses, cuffed with no water or food and not allowed to use the bathrooms. One 12 year old girl was arrested and seperated from her mother.

If anyone knows what happened to her, please let me know.
